Strata is another word for layers. This dish layers spinach, eggs, and bread cubes for some gooey goodness to share with the rest of your family. This dish is easy to make and perfect for feeding a crowd! This recipe comes to us from our friends at Davidson’s Safest Choice® Eggs.
Serves 8
Cooking Tip of the Week: After assembling the strata, chill overnight. This allows for the bread to soak up the yummy flavors of the spinach and eggs. Then bake it the next day for an entree fresh out of the oven!
Food for Thought: Spinach is commonly known in Mediterranean cuisine, but it actually originates from the Middle East. From there, spinach was shared and traded around the world across many different cultures including China, the Mediterranean and Africa. Who knew that spinach was such a world traveler? Now, spinach is a versatile ingredient that is commonly used in the United States as well. Spinach can be eaten raw, sautéed, or added to dishes for more flavor, and of course nutrients!
